My dad made a cassette tape with music from Paul McCartney on it, and at the age of 8 I became a fan. My uncle made another cassette for me with a Beatles greatest hits on it, and it was pretty much the only music I listened to. My mom asked if I'd like to go see Paul McCartney live in concert, and when I said yes my dad gave me a book with Paul McCartney pictures in it. I rarely drew people because I was terrible at it but gave it another go when I saw a band picture in it. I'd gotten a black marker for my birthday because my mom encouraged me to try other things than always drawing with a pencil, and after trying out various things that had a lot of black in them I ended up drawing this. I think I considered this drawing a failure, no one in the picture resembled anyone from the original photo, however, when looking at McCartney he does have his characteristic eyebrows, something I was really happy about.
